M & D Components

M and D Components started trading in 1999 having been founded by Mick Dyer and David Whalley. With over 35 years experience of ironmongery Mick looked after that side of the business while David dealt with the sales side. Mags, Mick’s long suffering wife, also had a big part to play having the house, farm and livestock to deal with as well as having to find some time for deliveries!

The business was set up to supply BLUM products to the furniture making industry and M and D very quickly became one of the UK’s leading suppliers of Blum and also of Hafele products.

The business expanded rapidly and Mel Dyer, Mick and Mag’s daughter, joined the company in 2001, leaving behind her a promising career in catering management. Mel has been the driving force behind the company since then and is now a director and overseeing the day to day running of the business.

Deb Sizer runs and looks after the office and the admin side of the business and Keith Douglas looks after the warehouse and delivers the goods. Both have worked for the company for many years and have contributed to the success of the company.

In 2007 David retired aged 68 and we thank him for his hard work over the years. In January 2010 Mel’s partner Mark Field joined the company as sales manager to replace David continuing the “family” feel to the business which we feel contributes to our success as we try to do our best for every customer and don’t consider any job too small
